Egypt's government launched a special initiative under Law No. 161 of 2022 allowing Egyptians living abroad to import one car with a 70% reduction in customs duties and taxes — making it one of the best opportunities for Egyptian expats to own a quality European car at a fraction of the normal cost.

What is the Initiative?
Under Law No. 161 of 2022, Egyptian expatriates can import one personal vehicle with a 70% customs reduction — resulting in savings of up to 58% on total taxes depending on engine size. Eligibility requires:
- ▸ Valid Egyptian national ID + valid foreign residency
- ▸ Minimum 16 years of age
- ▸ One car per person (max 1 every 5 years)
- ▸ Car max 3 years old at time of customs clearance
- ▸ Foreign currency deposit via official Egyptian bank account
